Himalayan Heart was established in October 2008 by Jesslee Engelhardt. In July 2010 the inaugural board was elected and Incorporation status achieved.

A Nepalese board was also set up at this time the board consists currently of seven members – Whose job it will be to oversee the running of Himalayan Heart
